    Mechatronic / Automation Technician (Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia Tahap 1 & Tahap 2)

    Course Duration : Level 1 (600 hours), Level 2 (600 hours)

    Course Objectives:

    To enable the trainees :

    • To comply to rules and regulation of safety and occupation.
    • To read and interpret engineering and technical drawings.
    • To examine internal and external leakage and trouobleshoot hydraulic and electro-hydraulic systems.
    • To examine internal leakage and replace the faulty components in pneumatic and electo-pneumatic systems.
    • To replace carbon brush and perform maintenance for electric servo systems.
    • To examine and replace faulty components on PCB in industrial electronic systems.
    • To examine and detect mechanical problem, to program and download PLC programs for industrial automation systems.
    • To assemble PC components and install operating system.

    Information Technology (Programming) Apprenticeship Scheme

    Course Duration : 6 Month Off Job Training, 3 Month On Job Training

    The Dual Apprenticeship Training

    This Apprenticeship training is a combination of theoretical and practical training at approved training centers which are registered with PSMB and practical structured on-ther-job training at the workplace of sponsoring companies.

    Sponsorship and Apprenticeship Contract

    Trainees will be selected by sponsoring companies and will be bound by apprenticeship contracts that have to be signed before commencement of training. Upon completion of training, the trainees will have to serve sponsoring companies for a period of 2 years, if offered employment. Each trainees will have to serve sponsoring companies for a period of 2 years, if offered employment. Each trainee will be trained to be competent in one job position, namely, Application Development Programmer. Competency-based training requires all learning experiences and structured assignments to be designed to meet performance standards in the National Occupational Skills Standards in the National Occupational Skills Standards (NOSS) for the above job position. The trainee is given sample guidance to practice his/her skills acquired on the job.

    This scheme will cover a period of 9 months consisting of :-

    Off the Job Training
    Trainees will attend training with recognized training providers for a period of 6 months. This period consists of 10 Modules of training and 4 supplementary subjects.

    On the Job Training
    Trainees will undergo on the job training at their sponsoring companies' premises for a period of 3 months after completing all modules in off the job training. Trainees are expected to undergo various aspects of real life situations in the scheme.

    Computer Systems Assistant Technician (D-041-2)

    Course Duration : 370 Hours

    A computer systems assistant technician is designated to provide user support such as to maintain, repair and monitor component and equipment of computer, their related systems and peripherals. The work is carried out independently or in team. He/She must be able to carry out assigned tasks.

    In particulars the person will :
    1. Comply with company rules and regulations.
    2. Install and upgrade computer hardware; software and peripherals.
    3. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of computer hardware and peripherals
    4. Diagnose, replace and / or repair computer hardware and peripherals.
    5. Perform work related administrative tasks.

    Computer Systems Technician (D-041-3)

    Course Duration : 340 Hours

    A computer systems technician is designated to provide user support such as maintain, repair and monitor components and equipment of computer system, network connectivity and their peripherals. The work is carried out independently or in a team in a variety of environments. The person should be able to perform supervisory tasks.

    In particulars the person will :
    1. Comply with company security rules and regulations.
    2. Assist in planning of computer system and not work connectivity.
    3. Install and configure computer system hardware, software and peripherals.
    4. Diagnose and repairs hardware, software and peripherals.
    5. Test and monitor hardware, software and peripherals functionality.
    6. Provide customer support.
    7. Prepare and maintain computer system documentation.
    8. Provide user training.
    9. Perform work related administrative task and work scheduling.
    10. Provide supervision and guidance to team member
    11. Pursue personal and technical development to maintain occupational compatibility.

    Information Systems Administrative Assistant (D-060-2)

    Course Duration : 6 months (Full Time), 9 - 12 months (Part Time)

    An information systems administrative assistant is designated to perform secretarial and technologies in a service-based department of an organisation.

    In particular he/she :
    1. Keeps records of organisational information using information systems applications.
    2. Performs typing and prepares account statements, schedules, forms, documents using word processing and spreadsheet applications.
    3. Performs sending and retrieval of mails and facsimile using electronic equipment.
    4. Assists in recording of accounting transactions
    5. Ensures all recorded information are maintained. updated and backed-up regularly.
    6. Handles and maintains basic equipment such as computer hardware and software, facsimile machines, printers and telecommunications devices.
    7. Coordinates maintenance of premises, in-house fixtures and equipment.
    8. Handles scheduling and appointment activities.
    9. Arranges lodging and traveling reservations.
    10. Receives customer's inquiries and complaints accordingly and courteously (e.g. through telephone, facsimile and face to face communications)
    11. Recommends the operational changes to management for improvement.

    Course Duration : 340 Hours

    An information system administrative supervisor is designated to supervise, perform, maintain, prepare, conduct, coordinate, liaise and monitor administrative activities according to the policies and procedures set in his/her department.

    In particular He/She :
    1. Supervises personnel welfare, career development and discipline
    2. Coordinates daily administrative functions
    3. Organises usage of information systems and ensures basic maintenance activities.
    4. Liaises with clients, suppliers and contractors.
    5. Coordinates with other internal departments.
    6. Handles information dissemination.
    7. Ensures basic maintenance of office equipment such as computer hardware and software, facsimile machines, printers and communication devices.
    8. Prepares business documents such as business letters, office memos and minutes of meetings.
    9. Assist in preparation of departmental budgets.
    10. Coordinates the office filing system.
